NOTE: there are some scratches on the base and some rough points on the gilded rim (SEE picture with pen). Very Nice Rare Val St. Lambert Crystal Vase by Leon Ledru.
This features a plum colored crystal, cut to a green pistachio with almond cuts near a gilded rim. Below is an acid etched danse de flore in gold with long vertical fan cuts that lead towards the base.The base has been ground and polished. Interestingly, Rene Lalique studied with the Ledru brothers in his earlier years and married into the Ledru family.
The Val Saint Lambert glass works was founded in 1825 on the site of a former Cistercian Abbey of the same name near Liege, Belgium.
