All photographs are part of the description. Here is an outstanding antique carafe from the American Brilliant period in the Cane pattern known as Harvard. It measures 9-1/8 inches tall and is 7 inches wide at the widest. It is in excellent condition with no chips, flakes, bites, nicks or cracks.
I could not find a signature, but I understand the pattern was used by many of the major makers including Hawkes, Hoare, Pairpoint, and Libbey. There is almost no uncut space on this piece. The neck is beautifully cut in wavy concentric circles. The rim is cut with two elements of the pattern, the strawberry hob and the intersecting double mitre. The piece is heavy, deeply cut, and just gorgeous.
